Michael Brown a well known portrait\/landscape artist was chosen for this work. (Freddie) Tait in this original 1898 artwork is significant, as the 1896 and 1898 Amateur Champ died less than 2 years later as a member of The Black Watch during the Second Boer War in South Africa.
