1913 gouache and watercolor painting of "Cardinal Bunker", Prestwick Golf Club Hole #3 by Clement Flower. This predates Clement Flower's most famous work - "The Great Triumvirate."

The "Cardinal Bunker" is one of golf's most famous and intimidating hazards. Designed by Old Tom Morris, it served as the inspiration for many "Great Hazard" and par-5 penal bunkers found in golf course design worldwide.

This was Clement Flower’s 1st golf work in this 1913 series. The 4th golf painting he created was the legendary “Great Triumvirate” painting that hangs in the Royal & Ancient Clubhouse in St Andrews.
