A 17th century oil painting - "The Peasant Festival" by Jan Miense Molenaer (1610-1668). Features a boy addressing a ball with a Kolf/Colf club -a predecessor to the modern game of golf.

This painting was once owned by the late art collector and historian of the early game Dick McDonough. It was featured in a Golf Heritage Society article titled "Golf - The Early Dutch Game that Preceded Golf." It was previously sold by German auction house Lempertz in 2018. Lempertz previously referenced that this painting has been restored and the Jan Molenaer's initials have been reapplied by the restorer. Lempertz also notes that it was previously part of a private Belgian collection.

Oil on Board, reapplied initials "J.M." of Jan Molenaer.
41" x 35 1/2" (frame)
33" x 27 1/2" (interior)
